What you'll do...

Serving as a key resource across the organization, the Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Engineer will deliver data-driven insights that support Asset Management, Microgrid Operations, and broader business functions, leveraging both IT and OT data sources. The ideal candidate will be skilled in identifying opportunities for products and process optimization using large, complex datasets. They will design and test models to evaluate different courses of action that address both functional and non-functional business needs. This role is central to generating insights that drive efficiency, improve outcomes, and support data-informed decision-making. The engineer must be experienced with data mining, statistical analysis, model development, algorithm creation, and simulation techniques-using a variety of tools and platforms. Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains. The right candidate is passionate about uncovering meaningful insights from data and using them to deliver measurable business impact.

You'll make an impact by:
Partnering with key stakeholders to modernize our data infrastructure-improving scalability, streamlining delivery systems, and creating automation solutions for previously manual workflows
Developing robust SQL-based data pipelines that efficiently extract, transform, and load information from diverse sources into our analytics environment
Creating intuitive analytical frameworks that transform raw data into meaningful business intelligence, highlighting critical performance indicators in operational efficiency and customer growth
Serving as a technical resource for cross-functional teams including data specialists, designers, product managers, and executives to resolve data challenges and improve decision-making processes
Supporting diverse stakeholders across the organization, including leadership, finance, engineering, marketing, sales, and product teams with their specialized reporting requirements while providing technical guidance on complex data questions
Creating, managing, and improving all existing KPI's, metrics and exception reports
Serving as subject matter expert in all Enchanted Rock's operational systems, software, databases, processes, customer contracts and product offerings

Requirements

Transformed data into clear, compelling stories for stakeholders at all levels -optimizing customer experiences, driving engagement, and supporting revenue growth through smart, scalable solutions
Have experience integrating and analyzing third-party data sources to build robust, end-to-end analytics ecosystems
Designed and implemented scalable data architectures that ensure integrity, streamline analytics workflows, and enable cross-functional intelligence
Excel at managing projects-balancing priorities, timelines, and budgets while delivering high-impact, timely solutions
Understand how to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps-and gain leadership buy-in for transformative data initiatives
Build strong, collaborative relationships that align analytics strategy with broader organizational goals
Have a track record of delivering insights that fuel strategic initiatives and improve overall business performance
Communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence-both in writing and in conversation

What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, with 7+ years of professional experience
5+ years of data engineering experience, including the design and implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines, data architecture, and performance optimization
Prior experience in the energy sector-particularly with retail energy providers or utility companies.
Advanced SQL expertise for complex data manipulation, query tuning, and database performance optimization
Proficient in statistical programming languages (Python, R) for large-scale data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling
Hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Databricks
In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and experience managing high-volume data processing systems
Strong skills in Power BI for building enterprise-level dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
Mastery of Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), pivot tables, and VBA for automation
Proven ability to develop and integrate RESTful APIs for system interconnectivity and data exchange
Experience implementing data quality controls, governance frameworks, and database administration best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sharp attention to detail
Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions
Excellent communication skills with a talent for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proven leadership in driving data engineering initiatives and guiding cross-functional teams
Effective project management with a track record of delivering complex data solutions on time
Adaptability in dynamic environments with shifting priorities
Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry 20 pounds, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
