Training Specialist - Manufacturing Operations

Sylmar, CA

Contract Position

$39.23-$43.58/Hour

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of hands-on and digital training programs for manufacturing technicians.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning content.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the on-site training center.
  • Deliver practical training sessions on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Employ a variety of training formats such as simulations, workshops, and on-the-job training to ensure skill retention.
  • Document training processes, maintain accurate training records, and ensure compliance with SPL and Boeing training management standards.
  • Develop and administer assessments to measure trainee competency and program effectiveness.
  • Gather participant and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve training quality and delivery.
  • Partner with production management to identify workforce development needs and align training with operational goals.
  • Ensure training programs comply with industry regulations and foster a safe, development-focused workplace culture.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical training or instructional design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional best practices.
  • Proficient with training software/tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
