Description
The Assistant Vice President of Trade Development is responsible for the achievement of all sales, gross profit and inventory management objectives for the respective supplier partner while working within margin and inventory parameters set by the company. This individual is the conduit of all sales and owns all communication to the salesforce and related departments for the respective supplier through effective management of the portfolio resources.
Key Accountabilities:
- Locally prepare and communicate all marketing and sales initiatives for the Diageo portfolio
- Provide off and on-premise teams with account sold data, program generation, and tracking through Program Advisor entry, usage, and follow-pp
- Coordinate pricing and programs with Vice President prior to submissions to the Commercial Alignment Team.
- Coordinate weekly TD meetings with Diageo lead as well as all Divisional Assistant Vice President's
- Schedule, prepare and conduct all general sales meetings in coordination with divisional Vice President
- Manage POS procurement process with local Diageo Marketing Director, both incoming and outgoing (Tool buys and ad hoc)
- Manage Diageo data analytics providing local accountability and tracking mechanisms through the use of TRAX and PowerBI data applications
- Assist in managing and tracking local marketing budgets to ensure execution of all initiatives within the set limits.
- Monthly program and focus brand generation and Connecticut playbook execution and maintenance, in collaboration with divisional Vice President
- Conduct inventory analysis for local supplier driven sales goals
- Assist with Diageo online brand training application (DWS Academy)
- Create and manage all PowerPoint presentations for Connecticut division meetings
- Work with Marketing and Diageo to identify, develop, and support opportunities for compelling in market events
- Manage and supervise supplier communications to localize for the salesforce
- Work in collaboration with on-premise Assistant Vice President with respect to tracking and executing supplier driven sales goals both qualitative and quantitative
- Establish corrective measures, where necessary, to ensure improved performance and adherence to agreed upon performance standards
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders
- Solid product knowledge
- Solid Microsoft Office suite and sales application capabilities (Diver, Program Advisor)
- Knowledge of on and off premise pricing models
- Ability to use budgeting and forecasting methods
- Ability to program with suppliers and distributors
- Strong analytical skills
Education/Experience/Training:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Ten plus years of senior sales and marketing experience with significant leadership experience in the beverage & alcohol industry
- Candidate must possess valid Connecticut driver's license and registration
