Position Overview:

Enlace Chicago is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and equity-focused Director of Data and Impact to lead the organization's data, tracking, reporting, and impact strategy across all programs. This role is central to helping Enlace assess the effectiveness of its community-based efforts and to communicate our impact to stakeholders, funders, and the broader community.

The Director will oversee data systems and processes that inform organizational learning, program improvement, and strategic decision-making. This includes managing a team of data and evaluation staff, building organization-wide evaluation capacity, and implementing inclusive, culturally responsive data tracking and evaluation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Learning & Impact Strategy
  • Lead the development and implementation of a data and impact strategy that aligns with Enlace's mission and program goals.
  • Define agency-wide impact metrics and frameworks to measure outcomes across Education, Health, Mental Health, Immigration, and Community Safety.
  • Facilitate learning practices across teams and lead regular reflection sessions to support continuous improvement.

Data Systems & Evaluation
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems, dashboards, and databases.
  • Supervise a team responsible for data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with program directors to design logic models, theory of change frameworks, and evaluation tools that measure program outcomes and community impact.
  • Produce high-quality reports and visual data summaries for internal use, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for internal and external users.

Capacity Building
  • Train and support staff in data literacy, evaluation design, outcome tracking, and storytelling with data.
  • Cultivate a culture of inquiry and accountability grounded in equity, transparency, and community voice.

Compliance & Grant Reporting
  • Lead data and evaluation components of government and private grant reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop protocols to maintain compliance with funder and legal data requirements.

Special Projects
  • Support strategic planning and cross-departmental initiatives through data insights.
  • Manage integration and optimization of organization-wide database systems.
  • Lead the implementation of community scorecards and organizational dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Data Science, Evaluation, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program evaluation, data management, or impact measurement in a nonprofit or public sector setting.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team or department.
  • Proficiency in designing and managing quantitative and qualitative data systems.
  • Experience developing logic models, evaluation frameworks, and performance metrics.
  • Skilled in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Google Data Studio).
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is between $85,000 and $100,000. Salary is commensurate with experience in addition to the generous benefits package listed below.

  • Health benefits. Enlace Chicago offers you and your family access to a low-cost comprehensive health care plan, which includes medical (Bluecross Blue Shield), dental (Guardian), and vision (VSP) coverage.
  • Enlace Chicago also provides life insurance coverage and short-term and long-term disability insurance at no cost to you with options of additional coverage.
  • Retirement program. Enlace Chicago offers a voluntary 403(B) plan which begins at a 1% contribution. Enrollment is available on the first day of the month following the first date of employment. An enrollment packet will be mailed to you.
  • Paid time off. You will receive 96 hours of Upon Hire hours, which will be prorated depending on your start date. After your 3rd month, you will accrue 3.33 hours per pay period or a total of 6.66 per month . All vacation days are considered above and beyond the approved holiday schedule. Enlace has 12 paid holidays with a Holiday week between Christmas and New Year's Day that will not be deducted from your PTO.
