We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Manager, Accounting to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing the monthly close process, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, experience managing teams, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance internal controls.
- Support the integration of systems, acquisitions, or new business units as needed.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Prior involvement with system implementations or process automation initiatives.
