Binnie is looking for a Project Manager to join our Project Delivery Division full-time in our Burnaby office. While based out of Burnaby, this position also offers a hybrid work environment.
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading capital infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion. You will act as the owner's representative to deliver a portfolio of projects ranging in scope and complexity, including highways, bridges, transit upgrades, facility upgrades, landfills, and utilities. Working closely with the client and their organization, you will procure and lead a multi-disciplined team through the project life cycle.
Your strong understanding of project management methodologies will support your efforts to provide comprehensive project status reports, lead the change management process and accurately maintain project control documentation.
You will play a key role in a talented and diverse team of Project Managers at varied experience levels. You will provide planning, direction, and reporting for projects to ensure we meet the needs of our clients. You will also utilize your excellent business development skills to maintain strong client relationships and secure new business opportunities. YOUR ROLE:
Acting as the key contact on projects working with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and support staff
Working with clients to develop a suitable governance structure for each project
Leading the development and maintenance of project schedules and coordinating resources
Being responsible for monitoring budget and projecting cash flows
Proactively supporting clients and anticipating project needs
Reporting on project status to the client based on a format that they agree to
Engaging in active business development
Preparing proposals and reports in coordination with our proposal team (under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager)
Providing mentoring to less experienced Assistant Project Managers and guidance to the project team
WHAT YOU BRING:
Minimum of 3 years of previous related work experience in a civil engineering environment with exposure to Project Management or applicable transferrable
experience
Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Urban Planning, Project Management,
Construction Technology, Public Administration or related field
Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC, with ASTTBC or equivalent are assets
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
Previous experience working with local government preferred
Previous experience working with heavy civil, municipal or utilities projects
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and personal vehicle
Progressive experience in managing all aspects of project delivery
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex projects
Strong communication and leadership skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
