A Brief Overview

This individual serves as a key member of the Investment Compliance team by providing compliance support encompassing fixed income and alternative investments and derivative strategies potentially across the regions where RGA Investments operates. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of investment holdings against investment guidelines and risk policies, collaborative resolution of business issues, and exceptional customer service for internal clients. This requires significant knowledge of securities and investment compliance monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and prepares monthly reports, which compiles and evaluates data from multiple sources associated with compliance management.
  • Responsible for the escalation and corrective action process for regulatory violations and other issues impacting the business.
  • Responsible for the interpretation of investment management policy statement documents, establishes and maintains corresponding compliance rules in the Aladdin compliance module, and monitors ongoing compliance with guidelines.
  • Performs testing and change management process to ensure accuracy of the compliance rules.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the structure and flow of BlackRock Solutions information, to verify the integrity of the underlying data as well as the integrity of the compliance rules in BlackRock Solutions against the underlying investment policy statement documents.
  • Assists the Executive Director with all training programs including resource materials and policies and procedures to document all functions within the team.
  • Mentors the staff working within the group.


Education and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics fields and 5+ years relevant work experience OR
  • MBA graduate and 2+ years relevant work experience


Preferred:
  • Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge and experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in compliance for investment management, insurance/reinsurance, or financial services industry, especially related to trading and portfolio management.
  • Experience with Aladdin and/or Charles River strongly preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of broad investments business practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting theory
  • Advanced compliance monitoring skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects, including the ability to re-prioritize tasks based on the level of activity generated by the team and other associates.
  • Ability to share and impart knowledge
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including customers and managed associates
  • Ability to investigate, analyze and solve complex problems/issues independently
  • Persuasion skills when working with others to resolve issue/problems
  • Ability to foster teamwork and effectively manage the functions workloads
  • Technology savvy, programming and process improvement/automation skills

Compensation Range:
$87,050.00 - $131,450.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
