Job Description
As a Project Architect in the field of Education, Sports, and Culture, you will assist in leading the planning and design phases of significant projects, including higher education, sports, recreation, and wellness. Your role involves generating and translating design concepts into final architectural solutions while supporting the Project Manager in tasks related to schedule, staffing, and budget. You will coordinate the project's design intent with technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration.
Responsibilities
The office has approximately 15 people and offers very flexible work-from-home options, including the possibility of being fully remote. Job Description
As a Project Architect in the field of Education, Sports, and Culture, you will assist in leading the planning and design phases of significant projects, including higher education, sports, recreation, and wellness. Your role involves generating and translating design concepts into final architectural solutions while supporting the Project Manager in tasks related to schedule, staffing, and budget. You will coordinate the project's design intent with technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage both internal and external design teams from initial planning through construction administration.
- Inspire, motivate, and lead the project team in client service, design approach, and project delivery.
- Establish an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and design creativity.
- Foster collaborative problem-solving and design excellence.
- Represent the team to multiple education, sports, and culture clients, industry partners, contractors, consultants, and public authorities.
- At least 7 years of experience as an architectural professional, particularly in higher education, sports, and/or civic/culture markets.
- A professional degree in Architecture.
- Architectural registration is required.
- 4+ years of Revit production experience.
- Proficiency in utilizing Revit and automation technologies.
- Experience in the selection of building materials and systems.
- Successful team-orientation and collaboration behaviors.
- Strong communication skills (spoken, written, and graphic).
- Highly attentive to client needs.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within restrictive time deadlines and budget parameters.
- Completion of the Commonwealth of Virginia's Construction & Professional Services Manual (CPSM) Webinar.
- Prior Division of Engineering & Buildings (DEB) project experience.
- Experience with public and private higher education clients/projects is preferred.
