The candidate will invent, test, and develop novel methods for genome editing and off-target profiling using CRISPR nucleases and base editors. They will also lead the development of advanced approaches for confirmation sequencing and rearrangement analysis. This role will require strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional manner with automation, bioinformatics, operations, and product development scientists.

- Invent, implement, and creatively develop advanced next-generation off-target profiling technologies and innovative assays
- Apply scientific expertise and judgement to initiate, design, execute, and analyze experiments and projects in a time sensitive manner
- Act as an impactful leader and contributor to project teams
- Mentor and advise other research scientists
- Foster creativity, collaboration, and execution with a sense of urgency
- Work with product development and operations teams to provide technical leadership, and establish SOPs
- Document results and present to senior management, colleagues, and clients
- Stay abreast of academic and industry advancements in relevant technology areas
Requirements
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, genome editing, molecular biology, genomics, or related field with 4+ years of relevant post-graduate experience in an academic or biotech setting
- Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in high sensitivity genome editing, off-target nomination and confirmation methods, NGS library workflows, and targeted sequencing.
- Expert knowledge of analytical methods, statistical analysis tools, sequencing data analysis and interpretation
- Expertise in experimental design, developing new technology, innovation, and continued process improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting skills
- Self-driven, with a strong attention to detail
