Who We're Looking For:
As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, the Associate Director of Engineering will lead the engineering department within a manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient operations and continuous improvement. This role involves setting day to day direction, aligning priorities from operational efficiency gains to strategic projects, and heavy collaboration with other departments to reach business goals.
The ideal incumbent for the position is a hands-on professional; capable and interested in building the business and leveraging their existing network of medical device contacts to drive operational improvements, new technologies, and successful product development processes. They will be the subject matter expert for the site on all technical matters on process & product as well and the development of the plant's technical staff.

About the Role:
- Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, support, and professional development to a variety of roles.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes.
- Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MS/MBA in Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- 7-10 years of people management/supervision experience.
- Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.
- Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA and MDD regulations and medical device quality systems (ISO 13485) highly desired.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work with various departments and personnel, including influencing without authority.
- Basic computer skills required (MS Office, Outlook); proficiency with CADD tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in new product development processes for innovative new product launches.
- Injection molding knowledge and/or experience with plastic materials and resin performance.
