Job Description
Targeted Annual Pay: $135,000.00
POSITION PURPOSE: The Project Manager will be a collaborative member of the Project Management team within the Energy Services division of the Sustainable Buildings business unit.
The Project Manager will be in charge of managing projects from initiation through completion. The Project Manager will lead internal cross-functional teams inclusive of analysts, technicians, engineers, and data scientists, to keep project implementation on-time and on-budget. The Project Manager will deliver positive results for our clients, help improve internal business processes, and deliver a high standard of professional service.
The ideal candidate is comfortable leading, managing, estimating and working independently, as necessary. They possess an entrepreneurial spirit, but a collaborative approach to executing and achieving goals. They are eager to learn, demonstrate outstanding communication skills, and model accountability.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop accurate cost estimates for various projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, audits, and other documentation to determine material cost, labor needs, and potential risk.
- Gather, analyze, and present cost data and reports to support project decision-making.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects to be used in bid proposals for clients.
- Manage multiple customer-facing and internal improvement projects and initiatives related to customer energy services.
- Guide and direct internal stakeholders to deliver high quality results.
- Coordinate with customers on an ongoing basis, schedule meetings, answer questions, and be their main point of contact.
- Track project performance.
- Maintain, track, and report on project budgets, revenue, payment schedules, and progress billing.
- Manage stakeholder expectations.
- Evaluate, monitor, and control risk factors.
- Improve internal processes related to customer onboarding, project tracking and budgeting.
- Conduct difficult conversations and manage customer expectations.
- Procure materials/subcontractors as required by the project.
- Coordinate and work closely with the sales teams to draft and edit proposals and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Management or other related fields required.
- 4-5+ years of experience in Project Management required.
- Energy experience preferred.
- Data analytics experience preferred.
- Experience in managing Solar PV, lighting, distributed generation, and/or other energy conservation projects preferred.
- Familiarity with CA energy project funding programs (e.g. CEC's Energy Conservation Assistance Act 1% Loan Program, On-Bill Financing Program, etc.) preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with clients, team members, vendors and management.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Detailed knowledge of technical project management tools and methodologies (e.g. Trello, SmartSheet, JIRA, MS Project, etc.).
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
- CAPM or PMP or Certification greatly preferred.
