Your Responsibilities
Verify Medications: Accurately and efficiently review all medication orders to ensure patient safety.
Prepare Medications: Dispense medications and pharmaceuticals to patients, clinics, and eligible employees.
Drug Information Resource: Provide education and guidance to physicians, nurses, patients, and families.
Automated Dispensing: Operate and understand automated medication dispensing systems while adhering to hospital policies.
Collaboration: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest quality patient care.
Your Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
Experience: 3+ years of extensive acute care clinical experience required.
Skills:
Proficiency in unit dose drug dispensing and IV admixture systems.
Familiarity with parenteral chemotherapy admixture preferred.
Ability to work independently and supervise support staff.
Certifications:
BLS (American Heart Association).
Licensure:
Current and valid Massachusetts pharmacist license (must be in hand upon submission).
Important Details
COVID-19 Requirement:
Proof of vaccination (dose date on or after 10/3/23) required at submission.
Exemption forms available (requires signatures from provider/religious leader). Approved exemptions require mask use at all times.
RTO (Requested Time Off):
Must be submitted with the profile (max 5 days). Requests after submission will not be approved.
Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable).
Schedule:
Varied shifts Monday-Friday. No schedule accommodations available.
Vehicle Requirement: Traveler must have their own transportation.
Local Rule: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
