Job Overview
The Senior Benefit Analyst will serve in an informal leadership capacity supporting Pretium Benefits as well as assisting with the Enterprise Benefits model and working directly for the Vice President of Benefits. They will oversee and manage the administration of the company's employee benefit programs. This includes evaluating, implementing, and optimizing benefit plans such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefits. The senior benefit analyst will be responsible for design, development, and deployment as well as managing day-to-day administration and the employee experience across our health and welfare programs. This role is responsible for applying benefits expertise, analytical rigor, influencing, and communication skills to assist in the design as well as monitor and audit benefit programs. This role will work a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC office located in the Ballantyne area.

What You'll Do
Benefit Plan Administration:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
- Manage open enrollment processes, including communication, employee guidance, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of benefit plan enrollment and changes for employees.
- Develop audit and monitoring procedures to ensure accuracy of benefits enrollments, changes, deductions, and contribution reconciliation in internal and vendor partner systems. Includes management of error reporting, troubleshooting, and any system or integration issues.
- Ensure Workday configuration for benefits administration including year-end audit and annual IRS limits is compliant. Partner with HRIS, Payroll, and vendors to reconcile any discrepancies.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze benefit plan utilization and make recommendations for cost-effective and improved benefit offerings.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on benefit plan performance, costs, and employee participation rates.
- Track benefit data to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Vendor Management:
- Partner with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure a positive employee benefits experience and resolve benefits or claims issues.
- Monitor and evaluate timeliness, accuracy, quality of vendor partner customer service, and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage the EDI file support with vendors and internal HRIS, work errors and ensure that files are functioning properly.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Apply understanding of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance for all corporate benefit and leave plans. Including analysis and reporting for non-discrimination testing, plan summary disclosure reports, 5500 filings, audit support, ADA, ACA, FMLA, HIPPA, and state and local laws related to disability and healthcare reporting.
- Stay updated on changing laws and regulations related to employee benefits and adjust programs as necessary.
Employee Communication & Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with questions or concerns about their benefits.
- Create and distribute educational materials, newsletters, and resources to help employees better understand their benefit options.
- Conduct employee benefits meetings including open enrollment for Pretium employees (travel to NY may be required).
Project Management:
- Serve as lead Analyst on medium to large scale projects as designated by management, manage projects related to benefit programs and/or participate as a team member on other large projects as designated.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines for benefit-related initiatives.
Benefit Strategy:
- Collaborate with HR leadership to align benefit offerings with the company's overall strategic goals and employee satisfaction.
- Assess market trends and best practices to ensure the company's benefits remain competitive and attractive to employees.
- Operate as the Open Enrollment project management including financial and participant impact analysis, Workday system and vendor integration updates, and delivery of the open enrollment experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant professional work experience, including expertise in benefit programs including administration, compliance, and data analytics.
- Mathematical, statistics analysis, and spreadsheet skills to create models and solve problems.
- 1-3 years of Workday experience
- Experience working with Self-Insurance benefit plans.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with remote team members in various time zones.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Vaccination against Covid-19 is required, except where prohibited pursuant to state or local law.
