The department seeks to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking, and dependable Information Systems Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR a graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree in IT or related field OR certification in an IT related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Five years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A master's degree in computer science will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Two years of additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, computer operations, business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the education requirement.

Incumbents working in this job title typically perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

The department seeks to hire a smart, experienced, hardworking, and dependable Information Systems Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides overall management of Information Technology in the Data Management Branch in the execution ofinformation technology initiatives.
- Manages the data processing activities and associated computer programming necessary for implementation of thestate assessment and accountability system. Designs and manages operation of complex database systems for theimplementation all state and federally required components.
- Manages the quality assurance of the assessment and accountability reporting system, which is necessary foraccurate reporting of all assessment and accountability data and reports. Reviews completed work for accuracyand quality assurance.
- Receives computer analysis and data requests and assigns to appropriate personnel within the branch.
- Supervises staff engaged in data processing and ensures adherence to standards and deadlines.
- Maintains the operation and security of the accountability database used for assessment and accountability.
- Coordinates the operation and use of the computer network and data systems for the Office of Assessment and Accountability.
- Provides direct supervision, including approval of leave requests and timesheets and completion of performance evaluations of employees.
- Maintains clear and effective communication with staff, leadership, and stakeholders. Develops and enforces procedures, standards, and internal controls and takes corrective action as necessary. Develops and reviews technical reports based on assessment and accountability data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
