MD Head of Liquidity, Trading & Investment Quant Modeling

Role Overview

We are looking to hire an experienced enterprise leader that can manage a diverse, global team of quantitative modelers and data scientists. This team builds and maintains models and analytical solutions for various liquidity, trading and investment applications. These models can utilize sophisticated econometric/statistical methods as well as Machine Learning/AI, and are used by traders, portfolio managers and risk managers at BlackRock and Aladdin clients for regulatory reporting, risk management, portfolio construction purposes.

This individual would have a strong background in quantitative finance research and data science, have extensive experience managing global quantitative teams to deliver a complex range of models/analytical solutions across a demanding set of global stakeholders.

Job description:

  • Leads a global team of quantitative modelers and data scientists building liquidity, trading and investment models
  • Provides senior research supervision and guidance on technical modeling aspects as well as important industry and regulatory context; ensures model development complies with BlackRock's model governance standards
  • Proactively seeks out new opportunities to expand model use cases and/or developing new capabilities to solve trading & investment problems
  • Works with partnering data, engineering and testing/validation teams to manage the full cycle of model development, from data ingestion to final delivery in production
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with the model user community, i.e. BlackRock investment and trading teams, as well as external Aladdin clients
  • Can communicate effectively on all aspects of the team's work to different technical/non-technical audiences, and can represent the team's work to the firm's senior leadership


Skills:
  • At least 15+ years of experience in quantitative analysis in liquidity, trading and investment applications, including managing quant teams
  • Hands-on experience in econometric/statistical analysis and ML/AI applications in Finance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Role models strong people management and enterprise leadership


For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$275,000.00 - USD$400,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
