Role Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting and promoting MUFG in the Americas by conceptualizing and implementing high-impact communications strategies and tactics that are consistent with our overarching business objectives. The successful candidate must have proven experience across the broad spectrum of corporate communications to help drive content creation and distribution through a range of channels, including the bank's intranet platform.

We are seeking someone who will exercise keen judgment, be adaptable and make well-reasoned recommendations. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to see assignments through with minimal oversight, and an eye for detail are also imperative.

This position requires an experienced communications professional with strong business and financial acumen and experience building relationships across teams. The successful candidate will have background in generating various communications (i.e., conducting interviews, draft stories for the company intranet, leadership messages, talking points, Q&A documents, speeches/remarks, biographies, video scripts, etc.). The ideal candidate must seamlessly integrate into a driven, high-performing communications team to achieve maximum effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the writing, editing, and execution of various internal documents, such as organizational announcements, speeches/remarks, talking points, executive messaging, town halls, senior leadership meetings, and social media posts, among others, for a variety of audiences.
  • Adept at working with a wide range of employees from senior executives to front-line staff and leveraging data, as necessary, to make recommendations to adjust communications planning, as needed.
  • Provide communications support to other company-wide initiatives, such as the bank's corporate strategy.
  • Partner with project and content owners to write and edit a wide range of communications that reflect our business, vision, and goals.
  • Craft impactful content for use across a variety of mediums (i.e., email, the company intranet, video channels).
  • Track and analyze metrics to measure communications reach and effectiveness while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Explore and implement new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and enhance colleague engagement.
  • Available to provide communications support in times of crisis and special situations, sometimes outside of normal business hours which may require spur-of-the-moment support.


Expected Qualifications:
  • B.S. or B.A. in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field. Advanced degree is highly desirable but not required.
  • Requires a minimum of 7 years of combined experience in corporate communications, either in a corporate communications division at a consultancy or a news organization. Prior experience with a publicly traded and/or financial services company is preferred.
  • Must be a strong, effective communicator, capable of writing clearly and concisely; able to use sound judgment to gather, manage and impart information to various internal stakeholders consistent with the bank's messaging and positioning; track record of engaging with senior executives
  • Strong project management skills and experience, excellent reasoning, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Solid copy writing, editing, and interviewing skills


The typical base pay range for this role is between $115K - $146K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
