We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Action Specialist to join our dynamic Asset Servicing team. This role involves managing corporate action events across domestic and international fixed-income securities and stocks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both voluntary and mandatory corporate actions, risk mitigation within a custody environment, compliance with relevant regulations, and accurate position management for client holdings. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex settlement environments while ensuring regulatory compliance and the accurate processing of client entitlements.

Responsibilities
Corporate Actions Processing & Risk Management:
- Process and release elections for voluntary and mandatory corporate actions across bonds and stocks
- Research and analyze client custody account activities to identify and mitigate potential discrepancies or risks related to corporate actions
- Monitor the impact of voluntary corporate actions on client custodial balances to ensure accuracy and proper allocation
- Research and resolve discrepancies in client custody positions related to corporate actions to maintain compliance and accurate record-keeping
- Facilitate the receipt and disbursement of corporate action proceeds to client accounts
- Provide recommendations to senior management regarding complex corporate action scenarios and resolution strategies while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Settlement, Reconciliation & Compliance:
- Perform key reconciliations to support the corporate action lifecycle, break management, and transaction processing within the custody environment
- Ensure accurate allocation of corporate action entitlements to client accounts, resolve ledger issues related to these events, and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements relevant to custody operations
- Ensure all corporate action processing complies with complex participation requirements, accounting standards, issuer-imposed rules, and federal/state regulations applicable to custodian services
- Utilize financial platforms such as Bloomberg, MS Access, Euroclear, DTCC CA Web, and potentially other relevant custody systems for processing corporate actions and settlements
Stakeholder Management & Process Improvements:
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, counterparties (issuers, agents), compliance teams, and senior management, regarding corporate action events
- Develop positive relationships across teams to optimize corporate action workflows within the custody framework, increasing processing efficiency and mitigating risk for client holdings
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with industry best practices within the context of custody services
- Train and mentor incoming team members, ensuring they understand entitlement processing, compliance requirements specific to custody, and risk management strategies for corporate actions impacting client assets
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years for AVP level, and 8+ years for VP level of progressive experience in corporate actions, asset servicing within a custodian bank, or a related financial operations role focused on custody services, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Industry Knowledge: Extensive expertise in corporate actions related to fixed-income securities and stocks, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance relevant to custody at a senior level, and comprehensive knowledge of settlement processing for these asset types
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency and in-depth knowledge of utilizing financial platforms such as Bloomberg, MS Access, Euroclear, DTCC CA Web, and advanced proficiency in custody banking systems
- Regulatory Awareness: Comprehensive understanding and proven ability to apply regulations impacting custody operations and corporate actions at a senior level, including issuer-imposed rules, compliance policies, and risk management frameworks within a custodial setting
- Analytical Abilities: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proven track record of researching and resolving complex financial discrepancies and corporate action-related issues affecting client custody accounts, with the ability to make strategic recommendations
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships at all levels, provide clear and concise updates on corporate action events and compliance matters to senior management and clients, and represent the team in discussions
- Process Optimization: Demonstrated ability to identify significant operational inefficiencies 1 within custody-related corporate action processes, lead the development and implementation of process improvements, and establish risk-mitigating strategies to ensure accurate client servicing and operational excellence
