Overview

The Business Development Director. New Homes Division will be responsible for the growth and development of the company's New Homes sales channel outside of CA. This position will include finding, cultivating and managing business to business (B2B) relationships with home builder partners in strategic areas.

Responsibilities
Identify and present the company's New Homes solar program to key home builders within targeted regions across the country
Manage an existing client base of key home builders
Build relationships and be the key point of contact with clientele including responsibility for the communication and B2B relationships
Strategize and communicate with other departments within the company and sales channel to problem solve and meet the clients expectations
Create and deliver presentations about the company's New Homes program to the clienteles executive teams and to their respective sales teams
Maintains a thorough understanding of current market conditions, rebate and tax incentives, and electric utility rate schedules
Support the Sales Director in establishing, maintaining and communicating up-to-date customer requirements and competitive analysis for their region
  • Work with cross functional teams to build financial cases to qualify and enter new markets and geographies
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, inside sales, business analytics and sales peers to drive strategy and investment related to expanding the new homes business outside of the dominant CA market.
  • Support the successful training and handoff of accounts to the local Builder Account Manager upon successful program development and kickoff
  • Lead contract negotiations and contract review process with internal legal team and counterparties.
  • Evaluate and target new market opportunities based on local, regional and state level policies that support market expansion, in close partnership with members of the Sunrun policy team.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree+ preferred
Minimum of 8 years of management-level direct sales experience in a growth technology, construction, or solar industry
Strong working knowledge of residential solar market and sales best practices
Proven leadership abilities, including advanced communication, relationship building, training and development, and performance management skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute tactical sales plans
Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and have a desire to build a world-class sales and support organization
  • Superior communication skills, including oral, written and public speaking
  • History of working with homebuilders, and other organizations related to the homebuilding sector
  • Strong understanding of codes and standards related to new construction, utility requirements and rates, and state and federal incentive programs related to new home construction.


Physical Demands
Work from home when not attending in person clientele meetings
Ability to drive to travel to and from customer locations
Up to 50% travel required

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$91,076.90 to $121,435.86
