Job Summary

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic and tactical administration of Global Road Transportation, Warehousing, and Distribution contracting and operations. This role will oversee the logistics operations of our EU regional distribution center, and provide day-to-day support of our EU and Asia road transportation partners. The role will be expected to drive compliance with Global Logistics processes and procedures, perform external market assessments, manage vendors from a cost and performance perspective, and initiate continuous network improvement and optimization recommendations. This role will utilize analytical tools and skills to uncover, interpret, and organize data for management review.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation and warehousing vendors including sourcing, benchmarking, and KPI / performance reporting
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Plant Supply Chain in requesting, reviewing, and approving new transportation quotes from external partners
  • Develop recommendations for logistics strategy and execution process improvements and enhancements that promote efficiency, quality, and customer service
  • Oversee the resolution of day-to-day plant escalated questions and issues regarding shipment visibility, delivery timing, and damages
  • Execute WMS transactions and coordinate inbound/outbound distribution center transports
  • Create and maintain Global Logistics SOPs, process documents, and global tariffs
  • Analyze transportation and warehousing industry trends and market analysis
  • Prepare deliverables for business reviews and contract negotiations with preferred external partners
  • Partner with Quality, Risk, and Plant Supply Chain on root cause analysis and CAPAs for lost and damaged shipments
  • Generate and analyze reports, presentations, and detailed logistics network analysis for management recommendations and compliance monitoring
  • Manage expedited or important shipments with routine updates to management
  • Serve as Global Logistics point of contact for special cross-functional projects and meetings
  • File any freight claims and track until resolved. Report out on damage ratios and claims values regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or business related concentrations, or equivalent experience required
  • Master's Degree in related fields preferred


Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain logistics including warehousing and distribution required


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of European Road, Warehousing, and Distribution areas
  • Exposure to Asia Road, Warehouse, and Distribution areas
  • Demonstrated ability to provide management recommendations based upon sound logic and detailed data analysis
  • Broad perspective ability to see beyond the boundaries of his/her responsibilities or function
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint report development skills. Power BI is a plus
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Strong learning capacity
  • Experience executing within a leading WMS, SAP preferred
  • INCOTERMs and basic trade compliance regulations understanding
  • Able to contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards the delivery of the set target
  • Ability to assess opportunities in the business and apply supply chain related solutions
  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Ability to respond quickly, present a concise recommendation and defend it
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Able to comply with all safety and quality policies


License and Certifications

  • Manufacturing\Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)-APICS preferred
  • Manufacturing\Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APICS preferred
  • Program and Project Management\Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred
  • Manufacturing\Lean Six Sigma Certification-IASSC Lean or Agile preferred


Travel Requirements

10%: Up to 26 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Sedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
