Job Summary
Under supervision, the Environmental Analyst is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Environmental Management System (EMS) utilizing advanced technology solutions in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations, internal standards, and strategic initiatives. This role involves developing, supporting, and documenting innovative business solutions that effectively address complex compliance and operational requirements across the organization.
The Environmental Analyst should possess an entry level of proficiency in some of the following applications and programming languages:
ArcGIS
Power Platform
Cority EMS
SharePoint
Python
Supports compliance software solutions for AEP (such as Enviance, SharePoint, Intelex, Maximo, Etc.) to ensure Environmental Safety and Health compliance obligations are captured in the compliance software systems in use. Participates in continuous improvement efforts to stream line and create efficiencies within the system., Supports ESHMS software solution development and document control solutions including Documentum and SharePoint and mobile solutions., Handles more moderate duties involving compliance and information software solutions for Environmental Services compliance and Stewardship activities. (TRI, Waste Tracking, GHG, Stack Testing, SPCC, MATs, Transmission Project tracking, MEA, etc.), Works with and guides and other support staff including contract staff as necessary and manages ESHMS IT support contracts.

We are considering candidates for two different levels of the position. Candidates will be considered based on their experience & qualifications and hired at the level commensurate with the appropriate level
Environmental Systems Analyst (Level 6) Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or relevant field Or Associate's Degree and two (2) years of ESH/IT experience Or HS Diploma and four (4) years of ESH/IT work experience.
Experience:In addition to education requirement, two (2) years of experience in ESH/IT work experience.
Preference will be given to those with experience in SharePoint and Power Platform.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Drivers license.
Environmental Systems Analyst Sr. (Level 7) Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or relevant field Or Associate Degree and two (2) years of ESH/IT experience Or HS Diploma and four (4) years of ESH/IT work experience.
Experience: In addition to education requirement listed above, five (5) years of ESH/IT work experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's license
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Participates in the management and support of ESHMS information and compliance IT solutions used to support AEP Environmental Services and ESHMS for AEP.
Participates in medium ESHMS project work spanning multiple functional areas with medium business unit impact.
Participates in scope, schedule, and budgets for medium projects having significant impact such as Enviance support to AEP.
Performs level problem solving and decision-making.
Interfaces with the IT organization as required for the development and implementation of business solutions.
Under supervision:
1) Configure Cority EMS tasks, workflows, and reports for assigned customers.
2) Develop, document, and maintain GIS solutions that address complex compliance or business requirements.
3) Develop, document, and maintain automation solutions in Power Platform and SharePoint that address complex compliance or business requirements.
4) Recommend, write, and maintain standard process documents for the management of Environmental Management System applications.
5) Perform all work on the Environmental Management System in accordance with applicable standards and standard work.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or relevant field Or Associate's Degree and two (2) years of ESH/IT experience Or HS Diploma and four (4) years of ESH/IT work experience.
Experience: In addition to education requirement, two (2) years of experience in ESH/IT work experience.
Preference will be given to those with experience in SharePoint and Power Platform.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Drivers license.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - to communicate with senior business unit management, facility management and Environmental Service coworkers and S&H Professionals.
Travel to AEP system facilities approximately 20% of the time. Identifies opportunities and initiate ideas for improving work processes.
Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy.
