What You Will Do
As a Program Manager (PM), you will play a key role in supporting W-1 leadership with the planning, execution, and oversight of programmatic work. Your responsibilities will include developing and tracking work packages, managing budget allocations, and preparing monthly financial reports for the NNSA. You will lead efforts to create annual FYNSP submissions, support Baseline Change Proposals (BCPs), and initiate and track AFPs and ICOs to ensure alignment with program objectives.
You'll work closely with technical teams to define program scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring all required activities are accurately reflected and tracked in the ALDW Integrated Schedule. As the primary representative for W-1 in Integrated Schedule Meetings, you'll be expected to stay informed on all projects within the group and provide timely updates.
In this role, you'll also collaborate with partners across the NSE and may occasionally present program status and financial updates directly to the NNSA. Due to the complexity and interagency nature of the work, some travel may be required to coordinate with Production Agencies (PAs), NNSA, and Air Force customers.

Program Management: Advanced level knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and make sound, effective decisions. Proven track record in developing and executing strategic vision to drive organizational success.
Project Control & Scheduling: Ability to manage cost and schedule commitments for projects or programs. Advanced level knowledge and demonstrated ability in applying project controls principles, including cost and performance reporting, variance analysis and use of cost and schedule tools.
Communication & Teamwork: Proven ability to foster teamwork and build consensus across organizational boundaries, including collaboration with LANL and the Nuclear Security Enterprise. Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through effective briefings, presentations, and written materials. Skilled in leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex solutions on time and within budget, while managing multiple projects. Strong problem-solving abilities, customer-focused approach, and professional, empathetic communication style are essential.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience and leadership in developing and executing complex organizational interface agreements, funding cost models, or similar integration tools.
Technical Experience: For this role you will need working level knowledge in nuclear weapons. You must also possess a strong technical background in LANL financial systems and the ability to create reports to inform financial risk and financial status of B61 programs. Additionally, you must have expert knowledge and demonstrated ability in applying project control principles, including cost and performance reporting, variance analysis, and use of cost and schedule tools.
Collaboration: Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts. Experience in developing and nurturing effective customer relationships.
Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related technical and project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

- Knowledge of LANL financial policies and principles including forecasting and resource loading.
- Master of Business Administration strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools, such as P6.
- Experience working with the Weapons Engineering and Weapons Physics organizations at LANL.
- Knowledge of nuclear weapons, NNSA facilities, or DoD customers that support the U.S. stockpile.
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and DPBPS requirements.
- Experience with Agile project management methodology and tools.
- Active DOE "Q", or ability to obtain an Active DOE "Q" clearance.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
