The VP of Finance will lead all financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and analysis while overseeing key administrative functions, including HR and IT. This role plays a vital part in shaping the company's long-term vision and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial performance for profits, trends, cost control, and adherence to budgetary goals.
- Provide strategic financial guidance, including capital financing strategies to support growth initiatives.
- Conduct return-on-investment (ROI) analyses for new projects, revenue initiatives, capital expenditures, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand revenue and cost drivers; develop and maintain relevant financial reports.
- Support pricing strategies, product costing, and customer/product profitability analysis.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and implement systems, tools, and processes to improve financial planning, reporting, and forecasting capabilities.
- Manage the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Effectively communicate financial insights and critical matters to internal and external stakeholders.
- Improve and oversee administrative services such as treasury, payroll, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Develop and manage relationships with financial institutions and lending partners.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, consultants, and accounting firms.
- Monitor cash flow, manage debt levels, and maintain optimal liquidity.
- Oversee insurance programs and ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
- Build and scale the finance team in alignment with company growth, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Provide leadership and oversight to administrative teams, including Office Management, Human Resources, and IT.
- Coordinate IT strategies and manage relationships with IT vendors and consultants.
- Foster a high-performance culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Actively contribute to executive team discussions and company-wide strategic planning.
- Take on additional finance and administrative responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required)
- MBA or CPA/CMA designation (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of financial leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years in a senior management or executive role
Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
- Strong technical proficiency, including advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Syspro experience preferred)
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal
- Collaborative leadership style with cross-functional influence
- Deep understanding of operations, sales, and quality integration with finance
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to ethical practices
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of the Accounting team, Office Manager, HR, and IT personnel
