Summary
The Information Technology Manager is a strategic and operational leader responsible for developing and overseeing all aspects of the IT department. This individual will play a key role in development and execution aligning technology solutions with Aero-Flite's business goals and objectives. The IT Manager will be directly responsible for management of all IT related activities within the organization, including the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the IT department function to ensure secure, reliable services. This position is based on-site at our Spokane, WA hangars.

This job operates in an office and hangar environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and scanners. The noise level in the work environment is usually at a typical office level and while in the hangar with frequent periods of moderately loud noises. Exposure to industrial chemical smells, fragrances, animals, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to move, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 80 pounds. Regular exposure to a hangar environment with walking/traversing hazards, uneven surfaces and stairs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position often requires extended hours or weekend work to fulfill its responsibilities. This is an on-site role based at the Spokane, WA hangars.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the IT team.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel is required to support business objectives.

Exempt: The base pay range for this position in Washington state is $105,000 - $130,000 annually. The annual rate is influenced by a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and geographical locations. Employees will be eligible to enroll in the company's medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement plan with match contributions, company paid life & disability and financial wellness programs. Hired applicants will be eligible for bonuses. This information is provided per the WA State EPOA.

- Budget & Financial Oversight
- Create, manage and forecast the annual budget for all IT needs across the organization; review and approve expenditures.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize technology investments; recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
- Operations & Metrics
- Monitor the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure data security, backup systems, and disaster recovery protocols are in place.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., data protection).
- Strategic Planning & Roadmap
- Develop and drive the IT strategic planning and tech roadmap to align with organizational objectives.
- Lead and coordinate IT initiatives across multiple locations to support company growth.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for IT staff.
- Define career development paths, deliver ongoing coaching, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Project & Portfolio Management
- Manage and lead procurement of technology resources
- Oversee IT project portfolio: prioritize initiatives, allocating resources, and manage timelines.
- Lead cross-site initiatives, as lead IT contact for the organization
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, service-level agreements, and third-party relationships.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure delivery against contractual obligations.
- Strategic Partner
- Collaborate with other department leaders and executives to understand business needs and contribute IT expertise to achieve organizational objectives.
- Develop and maintain department records and reports. Participate in leadership/manager staff meetings and foster a collaborative approach to support department needs.
- Prepare recommendations to senior management regarding IT initiatives and performance.
- Influencer of workplace culture, safety focus and champion of company Mission/Vision/Values.

Education and Experience
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or closely related field and five years of IT experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 platform.
- Proficiency with managing new tasks and projects.
- Experience with ERP solutions.
- Fundamental knowledge and hands on experience with network topology.
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and data security compliance (SOX, ITAR).
- Hands-on experience with cloud and on-site platforms, infrastructure build and maintenance.
- Demonstrated success in managing IT infrastructure, systems integration and technology deployments.
- Proven experience leading technical teams and managing projects.
- Excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Understanding of cloud service solutions and enterprise software.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior experience with Meraki network solution is an asset
- Prior experience with Microsoft SQL database is an asset
- Prior experience with Barracuda/Veeam backup solutions are an asset
- Prior experience with MDM solutions is an asset
- PMP or other project management certification
- CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Network+ are an asset
