Description: Assistant Vice President - Alternative and long-only investment manager research analyst

Jefferies Wealth Management is seeking an analyst to assist in due diligence across alternative and long-only third-party investment managers. The ideal candidate should bring approximately 2-5 years' experience in financial services with preference given towards candidates with experience in manager research.

Primary Areas of Responsibility: with a focus on fee-based advisory solutions and alternative investments, assist senior due diligence professionals in vetting managers, ongoing manager due diligence, communication with advisors, and assist in building model and bespoke portfolios.
  • Provide support to senior investment staff in evaluating investment opportunities through comprehensive quantitative and qualitative diligence
  • Maintain notes, exposure, and attribution data and present finding to senior investment staff
  • Analyze markets and investment trends both domestically and abroad; monitor current market conditions to help assess relative attractiveness of investment opportunities
  • Maintain internal and external databases including manager letters, risk reports, returns, and analytical data
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to the investment committee for the senior investment staff
  • Work with the group's outsourced operational due diligence provider and review reports and diligence updates, providing summary details to senior investment staff
  • Work with senior investment staff in providing asset allocation and portfolio construction guidance
  • Work closely with financial advisors to communicate view of the senior investment staff and assist with ad hoc requests
  • Professionally represent Jefferies at manager meetings, conferences, and industry events


Primary Areas of Support: collaborate with senior due diligence team, business leaders, operations, and advisors to diligence managers and ensure that knowledge is being effectively communicated across the business

Minimum Requirements:
  • Two to five years of relevant experience preference given to candidates with financial analysis and manager research experience
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, creative and critical thinking skills
  • Possesses strong organization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
  • Ability to manage multiple products concurrently while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • CFA or progress towards a CFA is a plus
  • Candidate will be required to hold or obtain Series 7 & 66


Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $125,000 - $150,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
