SUMMARY
Responsible for the management, development, implementation, and oversight of Physical Security and Access/Fitness for Duty programs, ensuring the protection of personnel and assets, regulatory compliance, crisis monitoring and response, operational risk management, and adherence to local, federal, and industry-specific security and safety requirements. Oversees the development and administration policies and procedures for programs designed to provide maximum security protection for site/plant personnel, property, and equipment.

SUMMARY

EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security or other Security field (Preferred).
- Without the above degree, 5 years of professional level experience in Nuclear Security may be considered.
EXPERIENCE
- 10 years' professional level technical and operational experience in the security industry (Required)
- 5 years supervisory or management experience. (Required)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
SECURITY MANAGEMENT:
Leads department activities for the recommendation, design, and implementation of on-site physical security, nuclear security, and Access/Fitness for Duty programs in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Develops, implements and administers effective policies and programs for nuclear security. Oversees the effective execution of the security organization.
- Functions as the interface/liaison with industry or law enforcement agencies regarding STP security programs and integrated response.
- Provides guidance and support for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspections and audits of Security programs.
- Interfaces with other departments to ensure security systems and equipment are maintained.
- Ensures Security employees are following STP Industrial Safety Requirements, Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) requirements, and other policies.
- Identifies and evaluates emerging trends in Security area.
- Prepares reports regarding Security programs and activities as directed by STP Executive Management.
- Responsible for the design and implementation of on-site nuclear security programs.
- Responsible for recommending/implementing physical security program in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Responsible for the Corporate Security Program, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal codes, licensing documents and other security programs.
- Oversee department's Corrective Action Plan (CAP) program. Establish timeline to close open items.
FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure the effective and efficient operations.
- Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
- Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
- Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
Performs people management.
- Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
- Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
- Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
- Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
- Maintains composure in high stress or adverse situations.
- Understands and implements company policies.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.
- Accept outage position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
- Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
- Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
- Travel may be required.
- May be required to carry phone.
- Work may occasionally be required in a radiological controlled area.
WORK LOCATION
- Site - Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
