Production Supervisor -1st Shift

Job Description Summary
Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (Safety,
Quality, Delivery, Cost).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
• Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
• Ensures employees are completing necessary training requirements on time.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
• Responsible for processing payroll and labor vouchering in the department for multiple shifts.
• Support operator qualifications as needed.
• Participate in department interviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 3 years of manufacturing experience (OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum 6 year's manufacturing experience).
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing supervisory experience

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
• Experience with customer owned products that require repair.
• Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
• Experience dealing with a union workforce.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is $90,400 - $120,400 The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
