Job Description

Manager of Health Improvement to drive initiatives that reduce health disparities and promote health equity within our local communities. This role will focus on addressing health equity regulatory compliance and healthcare disparities, including birth equity, preventive health screenings, social determinants of health (SDoH), culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS), and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additionally, this role will lead patient-focused health equity education initiatives to address emerging issues and ensure staff on clinical units are trained in cultural humility and a trauma-informed approach. Develop training materials to enhance staff competency, improve care quality, promote inclusivity, and support better health outcomes for underserved populations. The Manager will lead a dedicated team, including the Health Equity Coordinator and Birth Equity Coordinator, ensuring that programs are thoughtfully designed and effectively implemented to meet the diverse needs of our population. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing community health improvement programs that prioritize underserved and vulnerable populations. A central focus will be to create sustainable, equitable hea lthcare solutions and reduce disparities in care delivery. You will collaborate closely with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to foster a culturally competent, inclusive approach to healthcare that empowers the community and supports long-term health outcomes.

Education And Credentials

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. A Master degree is preferred.

Experience

5 years of experience in public health, health equity, non-profits, or healthcare management required. 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role required. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, mentor staff, and drive community health initiatives focused on Reducing health disparities required. Proven experience with project management, community required. Strong knowledge of health equity regulations and standards (CLAS, ADA, SDoH) required. Familiarity with data systems and tools for tracking program performance and health outcomes required. Background in implementing and supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within healthcare settings required. Exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills required. Strong collaboration abilities to engage diverse populations and stakeholders required. Ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy and respect, ensuring positive outcomes required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and public health data tools.
