The Role
Director, Credit Technology (Senior Software Engineer)
Position Summary
The Director of Credit Technology is a key member of the Aquarian Team, responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the technology supporting our Credit Investment platform. This individual will play a pivotal role in building both user-friendly front-end interfaces and optimizing the back-end infrastructure that powers our investment strategies. As the primary strategic interface between the investment team and technology development, the Director of Credit Technology will help drive efficiency, solve problems, and continuously innovate around our technology. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and eager to learn the intricacies of the credit investment lifecycle.
This position requires strong leadership in full-stack software engineering. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with the Credit Investment executives to further their objectives and enhance performance through cutting-edge technology.
This position is located in New York City with an immediate hire date.

Director, Credit Technology (Senior Software Engineer)

Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the product vision and roadmap to create a scalable technology platform that optimizes the investment process.
- Take an agile, iterative approach to software development, ensuring the platform is continuously optimized to meet evolving needs.
- Design and implement intuitive, user-friendly front-end interfaces for the Credit Investment team.
- Contribute to building and optimizing the back-end infrastructure for scalability and performance.
- Work closely with the Investment Team, middle- and back-office departments to understand the existing landscape and plan feature improvements.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends in AI, machine learning, finance technology, and modern software engineering practices.
- Independently troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex system issues in real time.
- Take full ownership of all aspects of the development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and post-production support.
- Design and build systems that prioritize scale, modularity, flexibility, and performance while maintaining reliability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-time, hands-on experience in full-stack software engineering.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of server-side languages and frameworks (C#, .NET Framework, Web API, Node.js, etc.).
- Strong expertise in modern front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, etc.) and application frameworks.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
- A background in finance or knowledge of credit markets is a plus, but not required.
- Self-starter with a track record of driving product development in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, adapt quickly, and innovate within the role.
- A foundational understanding of AI, machine learning, and large language models (LLM) technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding and adherence to secure coding principles.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of full-time, full-stack software engineering experience.
