Description:

AWS Security Operations is looking for a high-judgment, high-performing Security Engineer to drive engagements with security researchers and the security community. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused mindset and the ability to coordinate across teams to mitigate risks within tight time frames. Key responsibilities include cultivating strategic relationships, leading cohesive responses to security issues, and delivering results against the dynamic security landscape.

The right candidate is self-motivated with a strong background in security, combined with a passion for vulnerability disclosure management. A successful candidate is an expert at translating complex concepts into concise and well-written narratives, and has experience working on cross-functional teams in security operations. They consider business and brand risk, gracefully handle competing priorities, and proactively implement improvements and remove roadblocks. In this role, the candidate will work alongside a variety of internal teams and executives and is motivated by a dynamic culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome.

This position includes rotating on-call responsibilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years equivalent technology experience.

- 5+ years Security Engineering experience

- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of security experience.

- 2+ years experience on a security operations/incident response team

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, Security+, GIAC)

- Experience with AWS services and security concepts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
