Sightline is seeking a Sightline Security Team Manager who is responsible for overseeing the security and compliance of our Workday environment. This role requires a deep understanding of ERP (preferably Workday) security protocols, data protection regulations, and best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our HR and financial data. The ideal candidate will work closely with HR, IT, and compliance teams to develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Position's Roles & Interactions
  • Security Administration: Manage and maintain Workday security settings, including user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure appropriate access to sensitive data.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures related to Workday to comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements to strengthen security posture.
  • Incident Response: Lead investigations of security incidents involving Workday and coordinate with relevant teams to mitigate risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and support to employees regarding Workday security best practices and protocols to promote a culture of security awareness.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with Sightline and business teams in both the Health System and the University, internal audit and compliance teams in the management of Workday security settings.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present security reports and metrics to senior management, highlighting security incidents, compliance status, and areas for involvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes to continuously enhance Workday security measures.

Scale/Size of Area, Project, and/or System Supported
  • Works in a highly complex 70+ server environment supporting Johns Hopkins Enterprise Employee Resource Planning (ERP) solutions.

Workday software is an integrated development solution incorporating JH's key business functions of Human Resources (Payroll, Benefits), Materials Management (Purchasing, and Inventory Management), Grants/Funds Management, Finance, and Accounting. The Workday system will support over 60,000 users with the HCM module through payroll and benefits. Workday will interface with over 450+ other internal and external systems, including student services, banks, benefit providers, clinical applications, and e-commerce hubs to support the daily functions of the university and health system organizations.

On-call Requirements

Manages a team with members that may be required to be on-call in specific time periods during the implementation and go-live of the Workday environment.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of Workday or similar HR/Financial systems security architecture, user provisioning, and role-based access control.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and best practices in information security.
  • Experience in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.


Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of broad experience in a senior-level position in Finance/Accounting, HR/Payroll, Supply Chain, or ERP development.

Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, HR, Supply Chain, or related field.

Additional related experience may be substituted for education.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with the full life cycle of software development projects (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance).

Workday certification in Security

Salary Range: $44.98/hour - $78.73/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
