Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) in Columbus Ohio 43215 to manage and optimize our critical Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments, including Oracle RAC and AWS RDS PostgreSQL. This individual will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of our database systems, while supporting development and operational teams through deep technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Oracle databases, including Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL environments, including monitoring, backups, and HA/DR configurations.
- Monitor database health and performance using AWS CloudWatch; audit and secure systems with AWS CloudTrail.
- Design, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
- Use CloudFormation templates for infrastructure-as-code to create and configure RDS resources.
- Optimize database performance through tuning and proactive monitoring.
- Define and implement database standards, ensuring security, integrity, and efficiency.
- Write and maintain scripts in Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python for automation and maintenance tasks.
- Apply logical data modeling techniques and support data warehousing processes.
- Participate in the software development lifecycle and release management processes.
- Ensure scalability, elasticity, and cost optimization of cloud-based database solutions.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise-level database administration.
- Deep expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, Oracle RAC, and AWS RDS PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Python.
- Experience working with Docker, AIX, and AWS environments.
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
