Suricata Engineer (TS/SCI Required)

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Suricata Engineer to support a long-term DoD program, currently funded through 2030. This work is fully on site in either Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, College Park, MD, or Reston, VA.

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance, and must obtain a CI Poly before starting

Responsibilities of the Suricata Engineer:

• Install, configure, and maintain devices, applications, and security tools, including Suricata, Palo Alto Firewalls, Trellix ESS, FireEye, Splunk, Cribl or ForeScout
• Automate deployments, configuration management, and cybersecurity tools operations
• Apply DoD Risk Management Framework
• Support IT projects and activities

Requirements of the Suricata Engineer:

• 4+ years of experience as a systems/cybersecurity engineer
• Experience with installing, configuring, or maintaining devices, applications, and security tools
• Experience with automating deployments, configuration management, or cybersecurity tools operations
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
• Active DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) - Infrastructure Support (IS) certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND prior to start date

Compensation for the Suricata Engineer:

• Annual salary: $135,000 to $170,000, depending on experience
