Description

The Design Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and inspiring our graphic design team. Reporting to the Art Director, the Design Manager will oversee a team of two graphic designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design work that aligns with our brand vision and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in graphic design, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for fashion and retail.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of graphic designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to the design team to ensure the highest standards of design quality and innovation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals, and identify development opportunities for team members.

Design Strategy and Execution:
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to develop and execute design strategies that align with the company's brand vision and marketing objectives.
  • Oversee the creation of visual assets for various channels, including digital, print, social media, and in-store displays.
  • Lead innovation and evolution of all assets, with a focus of paid ads across all meta platforms.
  • Ensure consistency and cohesiveness of design elements across all projects and platforms.

Project Management:
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and merchandising, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity and efficiency.

Creative Innovation:
  • Stay current with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to keep the brand at the forefront of design innovation.
  • Must be actively experimenting with and be curious of all things AI. This person should be excited to champion AI usage within the Creative Team.
  • Encourage and facilitate creative brainstorming sessions to generate fresh and innovative design ideas.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to elevate the brand's visual identity and enhance customer engagement.

Quality Control:
  • Review and approve design work to ensure it meets brand standards and project requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback and direction to the design team to maintain high-quality output.
  • Address and resolve any design-related issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Brand Consistency and Freshness:
  • Create designs and templates that adhere to the brand's guidelines while helping the brand stay new and fresh.
  • Innovate within the brand's visual identity to keep the designs engaging and relevant to current market trends.


What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role ideally within the fashion industry and/or a D2C brand.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work, including digital, print, and performance marketing ads, with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and other design software.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and digital design best practices.
  • Experience in e-commerce and digital marketing design is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, capacity planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and practical, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Ability to initiate creative ideas and execute them independently.
