HIRING A MECHANICAL PRACTICE AREA LEADER - HEALTHCARE IN DALLAS

ACCOUNTABILITY
Oversees design standards and training of staff within discipline. Responsible for standards associated with
design approach, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, analyses, reports, studies, etc., and engineering design project cost control. Ensures that the department operates consistently and efficiently meeting the responsibilities of customer's expectations, company standards, as well as coordination with other departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Enlist Design Director to provide technical support in specific areas and assist in determining personnel needed with most appropriate individual qualifications
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program, each year, to encourage the growth of staff knowledge and continuing improvement in the firm's designs (product)
  • Assist and coordinate in the definition of projects in engineering terms, the description of designs and design philosophies and the definitions of the scope of work to be performed by the company
  • Participate in Quality Control to review design criteria, design documents and specifications at appropriate points throughout the duration of the project
  • Holds monthly Department Meetings to discuss and implement department procedures
  • Participates in Management Meetings and other in-house functions
  • Reviews and update office standards and details
  • Reviews completed drawings and review progress and quality of drawings
  • Actively represent the firm in professional organization(s) - ASHRAE, IESNA, ASPE, etc. and deliver industry presentations such as - project and design strategy presentations to client and peers, project interviews, technical presentations at conferences/events and conferences/seminars such as A4LE, TASA, USGBC, etc.
  • Participate in trade organizations and remain informed about industry trends and share technical information and industry trends with our design staff
  • Travel to other company locations to engage and train staff at those locations, at least once a year per location
  • Maintain neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to information required by other team members
  • Continue learning process by attending seminars and continuing education opportunities
  • Perform additional assignments as requested/needed

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Professional Engineering license
