The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage and optimize our critical Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments, including AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Oracle RAC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for data analysis, database administration, maintenance, and performance tuning.
This role requires a strong understanding of database principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. If you are passionate about database management and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
- Managing and maintaining Oracle databases, including Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Utilizing AWS CloudWatch to monitor database health and performance, and AWS CloudTrail for auditing and security purposes.
- Implementing and managing cloud concepts such as scalability, elasticity, on-demand provisioning, and cost optimization.
- Supporting the application system development life cycle methodologies.
- Creating and configuring RDS resources using CloudFormation templates for infrastructure-as-code.
- Developing and implementing database backup and recovery strategies.
- Defining and implementing database standards.
- Writing and maintaining scripts in Shell, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python for various database tasks.
- Configuring RDS for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery using multi-AZ deployments and backups.
- Performing database performance tuning and monitoring.
- Scheduling and monitoring data warehousing processes.
- Participating in software release management processes.
- Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance issues using logs, metrics, and AWS documentation.
- Applying logical data modeling techniques.
- Authoring shell scripts to perform backup, restore, and monitoring tasks.
- Designing, installing, and converting databases.
- Ensuring database backup and recovery procedures, access security, database integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage management.
