About Venteur

Venteur is a leading personalized health insurance platform that helps employers to offer an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) to their employees for health benefits. We are the fastest-growing company in the space and are transforming how employers and employees access healthcare benefits. Our goal is to replace the one-size-fits-none status quo with a more flexible, personalized health benefit model.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to scale and lead our engineering function during a pivotal period of rapid growth and innovation. As a core member of the executive team, you will be both a strategic leader and a hands-on technologist. You will be responsible for defining and executing our engineering vision, growing a world-class team, and aligning technology efforts with product goals and business outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to drive systemic change in a legacy industry: shape the future of health benefits by making a meaningful impact on how healthcare is financed and consumed. In this role, you will be delivering cutting-edge, scalable infrastructure, enabling seamless third-party integrations, and building delightful full-stack user experiences.

Key Responsibilities of this Role include:

Technical Leadership

- Define and lead the long-term technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our platform, with a keen focus on infrastructure, integrations, and scalable systems.

- Make high-stakes architectural decisions that ensure performance, maintainability, and extensibility.

- Maintain strong technical acumen through hands-on contribution as a full-stack engineer when appropriate.

Product & Business Partnership:

- Collaborate deeply with Product, Design, and Operations teams to deliver features that delight users and create measurable business impact.

- Act as a thought partner to the CEO and executive team, contributing to overall company strategy and translating business goals into engineering objectives.

- Drive innovation with an eye toward emerging technologies, data systems, and AI-powered personalization capabilities.

Team Building & Leadership:

- Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent, building a high-performance team that reflects our values and culture.

- Cultivate a culture of ownership, inclusion, continuous learning, and healthy feedback loops.

- Create and scale processes for sprint planning, delivery, QA, incident response, and code quality.

Operational Excellence:

- Manage engineering resources efficiently to meet delivery goals while ensuring technical excellence.

- Implement and track engineering KPIs to assess productivity, velocity, and system health.

- Foster an environment where technical debt is routinely addressed and platform health is maintained proactively.

Required Qualifications:
    • 10+ years experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
    • Proven ability to lead and scale full-stack engineering organizations through high-growth phases.
    • Deep technical background in modern web technologies, APIs, integrations, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
    • Demonstrated experience aligning engineering strategy with product vision and business growth.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and experience communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • A track record of building collaborative, mission-driven teams that ship high-quality software.

Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working in healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries.
    • Exposure to AI/ML integration in product environments.
    • Strong instincts for balancing innovation with iterative delivery and system stability.

What We Offer:
    • Competitive salary: $275,000 - $325,000 per year + performance bonus
    • Generous equity compensation
    • Comprehensive health benefits (including our own ICHRA solution) dental, vision, and life insurance benefits fully paid by employer
    • 401(k) retirement plan
    • Unlimited paid time off
    • Opportunities for professional development and growth
    • Offsite company trips

$275,000 - $325,000 a year
