Summary:
The Corporate Pharmacy Oncology Coordinator will support the Hematology/Oncology Service Line and all hematology-oncology clinical pharmacy services at Ballad Health. This individual will oversee utilization of medications within the Oncology patient population to identify and support development of medication use guidelines, policies, or protocols regarding optimal medication use. The Coordinator will support the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and Subcommittees to include formulary management and oversight, facilitation of committee work, and development of drug monographs, MUEs, formulary reviews, pharmacoeconomic analyses, and best practice recommendations to the committees. The Coordinator will monitor external trends/strategies in managing utilization to help identify opportunities for stewardship of high cost or high use medications within the oncology patient population to limit waste, generate revenue, or reduce the overall cost of care and will execute approved action plans and track their progress over time. The Coordinator will engage in professional self-development, scholarly, and professional activities and will also shape the next generation of pharmacy leaders by mentoring current staff, students and participants of our ASHP accredited residency programs.
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy with an advanced Pharmacy degree. Must be a PGY-2 in Oncology and PGY-1 with demonstration of extension projects in drug use policy or formulary management, as well as advanced skills in literature evaluation and project management. Minimum eight years in oncology practice preferred. This person will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to direct work, develop talent and drive engagement.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active Pharmacist licensure in appropriate state Valid and active Oncology certification (BCOP)
