We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Air Force Research Laboratory (ARFL), Edwards, AFB, CA. ASRC Federal on the ASTROS Contract supports the Nation's Premier Test Facility. ASTROS supports a wide range of Propulsion Test Support. We need a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a new Project that will move from designing, building to testing a customer's asset. This will be an exciting opportunity to assist and shape the next generation of propulsion.
Key Role:
Ensure open communication occurs.
Meet with customers and determine workload based on upcoming test.
Perform Test assessments to ensure all aspects of needed support are covered.
Ensure test requirements are planned and the facility will be ready for test.
Develop drawings as needed and ensure Configuration Management is updated.
Develop Work Authorizations based on developed work by the Engineering Team and monitor progress.
Must be able to develop relationship with the engineering team and create a strong team environment.
Work independently and communicate progress.
Support the build-up and test execution at assigned Test Sites.
Work with projects by ensuring staff are performing up to expectations.
Familiar with Test Software.
Ensure all work is performed through either a Safe Plan of Action or a Work Authorization.
Provide routine briefings to Operations, Safety and to the Site Scheduler.
Assist in supporting senior leadership during a test readiness review prior to receiving customer's permission to test.
Must be able to gain access to the customer's computer networks.
Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience
- BS Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience
- Technical Writing ability
- Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
