Description:

We are seeking a Staff Electrical Hardware Display Engineer to join our team in Sterling Heights, MI. This role is ideal for professionals with at least 2 years of experience, up to mid-career level. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of advanced display technologies and electrical subsystems for military vehicles.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for display products (LRUs and SRUs).
  • Lead efforts from concept through production, including requirements analysis, design, debugging, testing, and qualification.
  • Create detailed design documentation, including circuit board specs, interface control documents (ICDs), and test plans.
  • Oversee component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware builds.
  • Collaborate on design fixes and coordinate engineering solutions.
  • Support internal R&D, proposal development, and advanced technology initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, debug status, and versioning.

Key Technical Focus Areas:
  • Display technologies (LCD, OLED, LED)
  • Display architecture, bezel and ruggedized design
  • Touch screen interfaces and Head Mounted Displays (HMDs)
  • Display metrology, including measurement techniques and backlight design
  • Video distribution methods and military-grade performance standards

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in display or electrical design
  • Familiarity with military standards and testing requirements preferred
  • Hands-on experience with design and test tools
  • Strong multitasking, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed
  • Must meet ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) for working inside military vehicles

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ground combat vehicles
  • Ability to climb on/off and work in and around military vehicles
  • Background in continuous improvement processes
