Role name: Engineer Role Description: Support a Cisco centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environment. This includes routers, firewalls, security, WLAN. Responsible for the development of standards, solution architectures and road maps for Wireless Network infrastructure. Design the solutions to provide predictable and reliable high-quality networking solutions throughout customer locations/sites. Need to work with business facing teams & users to design appropriate solutions that meet business requirements for network demands across North America locations/sites. Able to analyzes requirements and designs technical solutions for complex problems. Evaluates technical and economic feasibility of systems solutions (e.g., costs, benefits, feature/functionality, interoperability, scalability, maintainability, etc.) based on the full technology life cycle. Support the department's objectives by ensuring the stability and availability of network hardware and software, by planning capacity of the Wireless infrastructure for Campus, Data Centers and remote sites. Able to collaborates with other network, security and domain architects to evaluate and introduce new technology standards Own and fulfill small to large strategic or tactical wireless projects. Function as point of escalation for project execution issues. Paired with another junior engineer, manage 3-4 large simultaneous wireless refresh projects per quarter to completion. Conduct and or coordinate site surveys, develop site plans to gain total coverage of facility Build BOM, coordinate resources, track execution, and validate deployment/upgraded equipment/site. Supervise and or performing site installs, maintenance, upgrades or software enhancements to support the network infrastructure needs. Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues. Monitor system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root cause. Work on daily service tickets while engaged on enterprise wireless deployments. Design, test and implement new Wi-Fi deployments and upgrades to existing infrastructure Engage with manufacturer technical support centers to quickly resolve issues as they arise as necessary Monitor system for trouble areas and proactively resolve and document root cause. Experience working Agile methodologies or working as part of an Agile team.
