We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Finance who will conduct a detailed assessment of CICan's project financial management practices in order to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. This includes determining the financial information needs of project managers, finance staff, funders, executives, and the Board to establish standardized financial management practices across the organization and all projects.
As a key member of the Business Central (BC) Enhancement Project Team (BCUPT), the BSA will help to streamline financial operations by reducing manual effort, duplication, and inefficiencies in transaction processing (Procure-to-Pay) and project financial management (Budgeting & Reporting).
Additionally, the BSA will evaluate the technical capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and recommend cost-effective financial system improvements to better support CICan's operational and reporting needs. Working closely with project managers, finance staff and the BCUPT, the BSA will help define user and technical requirements for the BC enhancement Business Case and Implementation Plan.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE OF
EDUCATION: Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Compensation: $85,748 to $104,956 (PS III)
Status: 12-month term on a full-time basis
Location: Ottawa, Ontario (hybrid work environment)
Language: English; French is considered an asset

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years in financial systems management, accounting, or IT administration with a focus on process optimization.
- Identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement in financial systems, processes and procedures.
- Translating business needs into technical requirements
- Providing recommendations on best business practices.
- Working with ERP/financial systems such as BC 365 and QuickBooks
- Managing Power Apps, BC 365, databases, and financial reporting tools.
- Supporting and training staff.
- Project management and reporting.
KNOWLEDGE OF
- Financial process automation, business analysis, and workflow optimization
- Financial principles, accounting and business processes and practices
- Accounting software and financial systems
- Business analysis practices and techniques.
- IT systems and their integration into financial operations.
- Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint for documentation and collaboration
- International and domestic project management frameworks (an asset).
