Overview

Manages a team of employees and contracted vendors charged with ensuring data integrity and controlling /optimizing money spent for goods, services and other operational costs of doing business system-wide. Independently and through subordinates, conducts benchmarking analyses, interprets data to identify/ implement contract and spend opportunities and generates various statistical reports to provide accurate data for clinical and financial decision making. Ensures data integrity in PeopleSoft to be the source of truth passed to other systems at D-HH. Collaborates with leadership to implement solutions that drive down costs for the System; liaises with the national network of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) to leverage purchase power for D-H, and maintains currency on innovative technology, advanced analytics and leading practices.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team responsible for the successful execution and maintenance of strategic data/technology projects providing data governance for Supply Chain data used in contracting activities and benchmarking.
  • Ensures data integrity by leveraging existing/new technologies in supply chain data management.
  • Delivers control and compliance metrics reducing data issues and improving data integrity.
  • Develops and/or analyzes supply chain indicators, benchmarks, reports, and trends; works with Clinical Quality Value Analysis teams to validate savings initiatives and provides meaningful information to executives, physicians and clinical staff to continually drive improvements in supply chain operations and costs.
  • Utilizes analytic tools to research, develop, execute and implement spend optimization opportunities and coordinate necessary clinical resources to facilitate spend initiatives.
  • Tracks, maintains and audits spend optimization initiatives to ensure compliance.
  • Communicates opportunities, initiatives, progress, and management of spend opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Optimizes GPO and vendor supply contracting, rebates, project development and group purchasing opportunities to obtain best pricing for the Health System.
  • Collaborates with system, operational and procedural and clinical leadership to target supply and performance cost reductions.
  • Performs system-wide monthly financial analysis for supplies, identifies variances and collaborates with leadership to correct overages and improve financial results on a system, entity, region and departmental basis.
  • Oversees staff providing direction and guidance, and administering management functions within the provisions of D-H policies and standards and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.


  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in education and experience required.
    • Master's preferred.
    • Three (3) years in progressively responsible Supply Chain Operations related jobs with responsibility for data integrity in a systems-based healthcare environment required.
    • Three (3) years of formal leadership experience required
