Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in the Quality function in support of Engineering and Production. This includes but is not limited to, the development and continuous improvement of Quality Management System processes and documentation, providing design and development/sustaining support through Quality and Regulatory planning, management and execution of plans, complaint handling, root cause analysis, and quality auditing, bothinternal and external.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead quality functions for assigned programs from proposal through shipment to customer while complying with customer requirements and achieving cost and delivery expectations.
  • Host customer quality audits and participate in internal quality audits.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers concerning program quality requirements.
  • Establish QA/QC tools for measuring supplier performance that affect our products and services.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products
  • Complete print review and ensure tolerance can be manufactured and maintained.
  • Interface with a variety of personnel in support of production including operators, quality engineers, inspectors, shop floor supervisors, program managers, project engineers and design engineers.
  • Be comfortable providing technical leadership to junior teammates, enabling them to achieve targeted goals
  • Drive continuous defect reduction by collecting and analyzing quality-related data (yield, rework, and scrap) and facilitating problem-solving activities to process improvement
  • Demonstrate the ability to do a Root Cause Corrective action on any defective product and/or processes. Like 8D, Fishbone diagrams, 5Ys, etc
  • Perform purchase order and contract reviews to ensure complete flow-down of requirements throughout various facets of the organization
  • Ensure continual compliance and improvement to the Quality Management System procedures and processes
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) duties representing Quality Engineering
  • Requires consistent exercise of discretion and independent judgment to perform assignments of a professional nature requiring application of quality engineering and related techniques
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills:
  • Six Sigma, and/or ASQ Certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with all manufacturing departments and interfacing with customer representatives
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing or part drawings, to provide guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills
  • Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001, AS13100, & NADCAP requirements
  • Ability to process and effectively communicate information using MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Desired Experience and/or Education:
  • 3-5 Years in High Volume manufacturing Environment
  • 3-5+ years of relevant quality engineering experience
  • Experience conducting Material Review Board
  • Knowledge and understanding of current ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.
  • Experience working in Commercial, Military or Aerospace quality systems
  • S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Systems, or related field from an Accredited Institution

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
