Position Summary:

The Mechanical/Fixed Equipment Engineer will be responsible for supporting mid-cap and major projects from early conceptual engineering through project completion.

The Fixed Equipment Engineer will report to the Engineering/Quality Manager and have responsibility for coordinating and providing technical support to define overall fixed equipment needs and scope development. The fixed equipment engineer will work with the project teams, corporate SME's (subject matter experts) and engineering contractors providing technical and specification support in all phases of projects from conceptual through construction and close-out. Projects will range in size from $20 million to $1 billion and will include both Capital and Expense work.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, team-oriented individual. The position requires the ability to interface with numerous project teams, and additional departments outside of the Major Projects Group.

Key Responsibilities:
Apply Engineering skills and knowledge in all phases of projects from conception to closeout.
Review of design drawings and specifications while coordinating input from stakeholders.
Participate in technical reviews with project teams, engineers from contract firms and equipment suppliers.
Manage multiple projects and assignments in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
Coordinate the use of corporate specifications and standards along with industry guidelines and codes, from early project development through construction and start-up.
Coordinate and manage the development of mechanical integrity items for each project (inspection isos, maintenance procedures, SAP items etc.).
Act as the liaison between the major projects group and the plant inspection organization.

Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the refining or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Fixed Equipment Engineer
  • A Valid Driver's license is required
  • Travel up to 50%
