Pay Range:
$162,718. - $219,668.
Summary of Duties: The Nurse Educator is an RN who provides supervision for professional and specialized education for staff, patients, and their families. The Nurse Educator assists with the transition to practice of newly hired Patient Care Service staff. She/he assists Nursing Leadership with the planning and implementation of remedial plans for staff, staff development activities and in-service education. She/he will design educational programs, perform clinical research when appropriate, assists in evaluating current nursing practice, helps develop and implement standards, develops and implements staff competencies and educates staff on new or revised policies and procedures as appropriate, and coordinates inservices involving new procedure, products and equipment. In addition to performing the essential functions listed, may also be assigned other duties as required.
Education Requirements: MSN required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Current licensure as an RN in the State of California, required. AHA, BLS required. ACLS preferred. Must have certification in area of nursing experience (Med-Surg, specialty, etc.) at the time of hire or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Experience Requirements: At least three years' experience and expertise in educator role, preferred.
Special Skills/Abilities: Excellent teaching, communication and writing abilities, required.
