Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join the Applied AI team at BAM. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing generative AI solutions to empower our investment teams to work more efficiently and effectively. You'll be involved in every phase of the development process, from idea generation to the hands-on creation of systems to store, retrieve, and derive insights from textual data. As part of the Applied AI team, you'll get to see first-hand how AI can be used to enhance and support the investment process.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement AI strategies and determine the best approach for various applications
Enhance our existing semantic search and NLP functionalities
Explore and apply alternative LLM fine-tuning strategies and evaluation frameworks
Communicate insights with the Applied AI team and more broadly
Contribute to developing educational material and documentation
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Data Science with a focus on Natural Language Processing and/or Generative AI techniques
Strong academic standing
Excellent Python programming and analytical skills, with experience in AI frameworks like LangChain, Llama Index, Hugging Face, and tools such as PyTorch, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
Experience with the following technologies is a plus: Vector databases, OpenSearch, Apache Airflow, AWS
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team
Demonstrable experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to make recommendations when faced with imperfect information
