IGS is currently recruiting a remote SSAS/SSIS Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) customers to design and implement custom spatial analytic and reporting solutions.

Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidates will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
  • Develop Microsoft SSIS scripts.
  • Create a Relationship Diagram of the data domain.
  • Use SSIS 2014 (or newer) for ETL Script development.
  • Use the tools built into Microsoft SSIS to implement and test scripts that extract data and load into the Data Mart
  • Update ETL scripts, as updates occur due to either new versions of existing domains or software upgrades.
  • Provide a Data Domain ETL Script Implementation Document for each of the data domains that describe the Integration
  • Services script transformation logic and loading logic created to meet the script requirements.
  • Assess the current data architecture and integration process and provide support in document creation and updates to include a Data Integration Enterprise Architecture Process Improvement Plan and Data Integration Control Document, Architecture Process Improvement Plan; create development/test environment and disaster recovery capability into the plans.
  • Provide a Data Integration Enterprise Architecture Design Document that outlines how-to implement an SSIS farm of servers on the size and scale.


Requirements

  • Master's degree in software engineering, Computer Science. (Master's Degree - Can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree and two (2) additional years of relevant experience, or Associates and four (4) additional years of relevant experience.)
  • 15 years' experience in information technology.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust.
  • Experience with SSAS server management and development.
  • Advanced experience with MS SQL server Analysis Services SSAS Tabular and Multidimensional.
  • Deep understanding of the tools' underlying architecture.
  • Experience customizing, upgrading, and integrating applications.
  • Experience making recommendations related to proactive/predictive risk mitigation and performance improvements.
  • Experience successfully leading a team, providing technical expertise and guidance.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving abilities and data analysis experience.
  • Motivated and self-driven with focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with end-user/customer training and support.
  • Solid understanding of relational DB and high-volume Data Warehouse understanding about Facts Dimensions MDX and DAX queries Role level and Row Level security management in SSAS Model Cube Deployment and Processing Options Automate the refresh of SSAS cubes with the Scheduler available.

Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
  • Recent experience within the Department of Veterans Affairs' data exchange platform highly preferred
  • Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of excellent client-facing or consulting skills.

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
