The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

BCIT Nephrology Program Education:

Online pre-requisite courses by distance: Sept 2 - Oct 17, 2025 (7 weeks)

Classroom/clinical: Oct 20 - Nov 21, 2025 (2 weeks)

Preceptorship: Nov 24 - Dec 5, 2025 (2 weeks)

Funding will consist of 100% for tuition and books; and wages at rate of 100% of posted FTE. The length of the Post-Basic Education is approximate. Eligibility for Post-Basic Education is restricted to applicant(s) with a minimum of 1-2 year medical/surgical experience (2 years preferred) and who have not received Post-Basic Education Funding from PHC for the past 2 years. Applicant must successfully complete the Post-Basic Education prior to working in the Department.

After successful completion of the program, you will be placed into the 0.92 FTE position at Squamish Community Dialysis Unit, located in Squamish General Hospital.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Providence Health Care Team at Squamish General Hospital. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs of our patients and residents. You will work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, following established nursing frameworks and protocols. Your responsibilities include developing and revising individualized care plans, providing patient education, and making referrals to additional resources as needed. You will also play a key role in supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and demonstrating procedures. This education seat is for placement into the 0.92 FTE position at Squamish Community Dialysis Unit after successful completion of the BCIT Nephrology Program.

Qualifications

Education
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • If the applicant does not possess the required qualifications, PHC will fund Post-Basic Education. Funding will consist of 100% for tuition and books; and wages at rate of 100% of posted FTE.
