UC Health is hiring a Medication Safety Coordinator at the University of Cincinnati's Medical Center Outpatient Pharmacy.
The primary purpose of the Medication Safety Coordinator is to prevent medication errors within UC Health by ensuring that the UC Health meets and exceeds expectations of national and regional patient safety and medication safety organizations.

Qualifications
Education: Minimum requirement - BS in Pharmacy, Preferred PharmD
License and Certification: Required: current state of Ohio Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist.
Years of Experience: Minimum Required: 3 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Medication Safety, Drug Information or Administration
Required Skills and Knowledge: Must have a strong clinical pharmacy education and experience record, excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills for documents, spreadsheets and data retrieval. Must be able to proactively identify projects and prioritize and manage time and projects. Training/experience in project management and in process improvement is preferred. Must be able to work on site with each UC Health pharmacy staff to address medication safety issues.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $58.34/hr.- $73.74/hr.
The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position

Responsibilities
- Engages in population appropriate communication.
- Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
- Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
- Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
- Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
- Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
- Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
- Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
