As the chief economist, you'll lead the formulation and presentation of Progressive's view of the U.S. and global macroeconomy. In this role, you'll coordinate the interest rate strategy process for Progressive Capital Management (PCM). You'll contribute to the formulation of our investment strategy by assessing the broad macroeconomic environment, in the U.S. and globally. You'll identify and evaluate potential economic and investment risks and rewards and synthesize and disseminate macroeconomic knowledge and findings, leading economic discussions with business leaders across the business. Working directly with senior management, you'll aid in decision-making for business issues affected by the macroeconomic environment. Additionally, you'll present findings and views to the Board of Directors, senior management, and other departments within the company.

Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years of economic and/or investment experience.
- {OR} Master's degree or higher in Business, Economics or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of economic and/or investment experience.
Preferred skills
- Deep understanding of the economic and financial factors that impact the insurance industry and our investments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate economic ideas in an organized and clear fashion to audiences with varying degrees of sophistication
- Leadership skills, including the ability to lead and mentor staff to achieve results, and to help establish strategic direction
Compensation
- $221,900 - $317,000/year
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 230% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
- Eligible to participate in our restricted stock units program
